This project was founded on two core principles: Empathy and Humanity.

When we lack an innate sense of compassion for others and fail to prioritize the well-being of our peers, we risk ignoring standards, taking shortcuts, and undervaluing human life in favor of profit. In a capitalistic society, it’s common for shortcuts to be made as corporations focus on saving money, maintaining a positive image, and driving sales.

The Boeing Company is the largest international manufacturer of commercial jetliners, as well as defense, space, and security systems. Historically known for its commitment to safety and expert engineering, one question arises: when did Boeing conclude that the cost of a human life was worth less than a dollar?

This project explores the narratives surrounding Boeing and its victims, emphasizing the severe consequences of the company's negligence, which has resulted in the deaths of hundreds, including commercial flight passengers and workers. While recent, tragic airplane crashes have drawn public attention, there remains a concerning lack of transparency regarding how Boeing handles whistleblowers and the legal loopholes the company has exploited, such as Deferred Prosecution Agreements. A critical factor in this issue is the role of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

As Boeing releases its official report for fiscal year 2024, this project aims to highlight the human impact of these incidents and the importance of holding corporations accountable. The challenge lies in addressing the legal protections that create these loopholes.
